Via John at Ezra's and Mojo: no, it's not time yet to actually attack Pakistan where officials recently helped to foil the attempted airplane bombings, arresting two men associated with the scheme.

Actually, the article in the Weekly Standard did not advocate using any kind of violence. Thomas Joscelyn asked if the US or UK would be bombing them, but did not specifically advocate anything. Didn't even "think" about it. There are some conservatives out there advocating questionable strategies involving the use of force, specifically the Weekly Standard. This article didn't come close.
Oh come on, John. Nobody outside the Weekly Standard is even talking or thinking about bombing or otherwise destablizing Pakistan. Mostly, when it comes to Pakistan, Western center-right punditry is more worried about making sure that nothing happens to destablize Musharraf. This article is clearly suggesting we ought to be considering that Pakistan are bad allies despite their role in foiling the airplane plot and that U.S. and British authorities should thinking about using or threating force to... what? Scare them into line?
Advocating the bombing of Pakistan would be so far out not even the neocons will suggest it outright. They'll just hint coyly at it. Pure parody.

The very idea of bombing Pakistan seems so far out there that it's hard for me to even imagine someone taking this seriously.
And then I remember that we're talking about the Weekly Standard. So I can see your point.
