Recommendation.
In the blog navel-gazing department, I've always been fascinated by the phenomenon by which some blogs develop really unique, fun, friendly comment sections while other blogs of what seem to me comparable quality and reach (I'm talking about big blogs, not little ones like LWC) develop such crappy, predictable and/or hostile ones.
Anyway, Pierre Tristam at Candide's Notebooks put up a great meta-post on the subject of blog comments a few days ago -- with application to the recent dust-up over a bunch of nasty comments left in a HuffPo thread about a celebrity newscaster marriage. Go read and enjoy.
